This memorial on Montsec Ridge in the Meuse Hills consists of a circular colonnade with a bronze viewing table in the middle showing the location of villages and the position of the fighting on the Saint-Mihiel Saillant. It was erected by the USA in 1932 and is made of Euville stone.
It bears the names of the American units that fought in this area in 1918. A wide flight of steps leads up to the memorial. Butte de Montsec is a hill (alt. 375 meters) standing on its own and providing a magnificent panoramic view of Lake Madine and the Meuse Hills.
